Nursing home Houbouen is the first facility established in Houei group in 1980. Most of the residents are severely impaired in ADL or cognition and need 24hrs care. Juhouen was established as a nursing home facility that has two major features. First it provides specialized care for dementia patients, which meet the needs according to rapid increase of number of them in Japan. Many of the caregivers of Juhouen have trainings of caring dementia patients.
Second is that facility consists of 5 units, and one unit makes one community. Each unit has 10 private rooms and one community room. Small community assures good communication among residents and staffs, privacy of residents and quality of care.
